Producers

Sokina Begum (60 years) is an old & skilled producer of Rishilpi Jute section.  She has been working for 35 years. In 1988, her husband died by road accident. Since then she is living with her husband’s house with her five issues. Every child was very young and all kind of responsibilities went to Sokina Begum. It was hard to feed them through only one’s income.  At that time, Rishilpi was the only source for surviving. Now she isearning monthly $ 32 in average. She completes 1 stylish bag per 3-4 days. She is expert for macramé sample bag making. Her three girls have got married and two sons have settled. Often, they help her mother financially.  Now she is self reliant, she purchases her clothes, food, medicines by own income. Even she helps her grandsons &granddaughters financially.

Anwara Begum (62 years) is an old & skilled producer of Rishilpi Jute section.   She has been working for 32 years. She lives with her husband & 6 issues. Her husband is getting aged and cannot do anything. Her one girl has completed Bachelor degree by getting Rishilpi’s support. Other children are settled. She is very happy to work with Rishilpi because she does not take any financial help from her sons. Rather, she helps her children and purchases her necessary house ware.  Being aged woman, she feels proud for the opportunity from Rishilpi. Her girl also makes jute bags with her. They are monthly average income is $ 50. By 3-4 days, she completes 1 jute bag. From Nov-May, they earn more for having sufficient production.

Halima (45 years) is a producer of Rishilpi. She lives with her husband and children.  Her husband is a day labor. Her children are settled. She has been working here for 29 years.  She loves to work with Rishilpi. She earns $ 26 per months in average. Sometimes, she gets more and purchases her necessary house ware.  Her comments: I am independent; I never borrow money from my sons. Even I help them if I can.

Saleya begum (55 years) is a producer of Rishilpi. She lives with her husband and children. Her husband is getting aged and cannot do anything. She has one son who works in a shop. She also has 4 girl and they got married. She is expert for macramé and sample making.  By 4-5 days she completes one jute bag. Her monthly average income is about $ 32 but from Nov-May she gets more when we provide more order. She purchases house ware, dress and necessary product by her earnings.

Jahira (30 years) is a young producer of Rishilpi. She lives with her husband and children. Her husband works in furniture shop. She has one girl who studies in class VII and her son reads Class I. She bears all educational expenses from her earnings. Her comments: without Rishilpi’s support she could not continue her Childers education. Her monthly average income is about $ 30.  When we provide more production order, then she gets more.

Asiya begum (58 Years) is an old producer of Rishilpi. She has been working here for 25 years. Her husband has a small grocery shop. She lives with him. She has seven Childers.  Everybody is settled except one.  He is studying in a government University but he depends on her mother Asiya. It is also being hard to bear his education cost from her income. Thereafter, she is working only for her youngest son and his future. Her monthly average income is about $ 25-28. Sometimes she gets more. She dreams once her son will get job and she will be happy.

Second left, Name: Shopna (aged 30) has been working for 6 years. He has two sons and they are studying in school. She lives with her husband. Her husband is a motor driver. She earns $ 16 every month. Last from left, Name: Protima (age 25 years) has been working for 5 years. She has one girl and study in class-V. Her husband is a day labour. She lives with her husband. She earns $ 19 monthly. Above all are very happy to work with Rishilpi.

She lives on her brother’s land. She works other house and makes jute bags. She earns $ 14 from Jute bags and $ 5 from other. Second in left: Name: Momotaz (age 36) has been working for 12 years. She has one son and one girl and her son are studying in class-VI. Her girl has got married. She lives with her husband and her husband is a day labour. She earns about $ 20 every month. Last from left, Name: Shahida (age 25 years) has been working from 7 years. She is unmarried. She lives with her brothers and bears all expenses. She is expert for macramé sample making.  She earns about $ 30.
